It provides access to several schemes, including pre-matric and post-matric scholarships, higher studies support and assistance for certain technical courses. Each has its own purpose and conditions.

You do not need to guess which scholarship suits you. Start with your current class or course, then read the details of that scheme on the portal.

Who Can Apply for Sirish Scholarship 2026?

You must be a permanent resident of Assam and belong to the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community. Your annual family income should be ₹5 lakh or less.

A parent or guardian must provide the income undertaking in the required format. Applicants also need an Aadhaar-seeded account with a scheduled bank and must enter their own bank information.

You also need to meet the study requirements of the scheme you choose. For example, the scholarship for a school student has different conditions from assistance for a professional course.

How Much Is the Sirish Scholarship Amount?

Students in school and eligible general degree courses can receive the following amounts:

Education levelAnnual support
Class 9 or Class 10₹3,000
Class 11 or Class 12₹5,000
Eligible three-year degree course₹7,000

Your current level matters when choosing the application category. A student entering Class 11 should check post-matric support, while a Class 9 student should check pre-matric support.

If you are taking a professional or higher studies course, a different payment category may apply. Group A provides ₹35,000 annually, Group B ₹30,000 and Group C ₹25,000. Examples include B.Tech and MBBS in Group A, MBA in Group B, and B.Pharm and B.Sc Nursing in Group C. Check the complete course classification before applying.

Who Can Receive the ₹10,000 Special Scholarship?

The Simon Sing Horo Special Post-Matric Scholarship offers a one-time payment of ₹10,000 for eligible students who pass HSLC or HSSLC during the current year and move to the next education level.

For example, if you passed Class 10 this year and have joined Class 11, check whether you qualify for this incentive. You will need your new admission receipt to show that you are continuing your education.

The guidelines allow this special incentive alongside certain other education schemes when the student qualifies for them. This includes normal post-matric support and specified higher studies or technical course assistance.

What Documents Do Fresh Applicants Need?

For a first-time post-matric application, prepare the following records:

  • Age proof, such as a birth certificate or an accepted HSLC document.
  • Mark sheet for your most recently passed examination.
  • Admission fee receipt for the current course or a principal’s recommendation.
  • Family income undertaking using the official format.
  • Caste certificate and Aadhaar card.
  • The first page of your Aadhaar-seeded bank passbook.

Pre-matric applicants should check their separate list, which includes a birth certificate and a certificate from the headmaster.

Check your documents before uploading them. Make sure the name on your form matches your records. Photograph full pages in good light, without covering numbers or cutting off signatures.

Save each scan with a clear name, such as marksheet or admission receipt. This makes it easier to select the right file while completing your application.

Ask your institution for any required recommendation early. Waiting until the closing day may leave too little time to fix a missing signature or unclear certificate.

  4. Complete the required identity and Aadhaar authentication steps.
  5. Sign in and choose the scheme that fits your course.
  6. Fill in the requested personal, education and bank details.
  7. Attach the documents required by your selected scheme.

Pay particular attention to your account number, course name and current class. Once you have submitted the form, save a copy on your phone or computer so you can find it easily later.

What Should Previously Registered Students Do?

If you have registered before, use your existing user ID and password. You do not need to start with a new registration.

The pre-matric page asks returning applicants for their latest mark sheet and a current headmaster’s certificate. The post-matric page lists the latest mark sheet plus the current admission receipt or principal’s recommendation.

Check the year on each document before uploading it. A certificate saved from an earlier application may not show your present class or admission.

How Are Applications Checked and Payments Made?

After you submit a pre-matric or post-matric application, your details and documents will be checked. The Sub-Divisional Welfare Officer may call applicants to present their original records and acknowledgement.

Approved support is transferred directly to the student’s Aadhaar-seeded bank account. Completing the online form alone does not confirm selection.

Keep your papers organised after applying. If you receive a request for verification, read it carefully and take the exact documents mentioned.

How Can You Check Your Sirish Scholarship Status?

SIRISH allows applicants to track their applications online. Sign in and check the information available for your submitted form.

If you need help, keep your application reference ready and describe the problem clearly. For example, explain whether you cannot sign in, upload a document or understand a status message. Avoid sending passwords or OTPs when asking for assistance.

Can You Combine This With Another Scholarship?

The pre-matric and post-matric rules restrict receiving another government scholarship or stipend. An exception exists for eligible post-matric students receiving the Simon Sing Horo incentive. Check the relevant conditions before claiming two benefits.

Where Can You Ask for Official Help?

The SIRISH website lists 88221-39494 and director-ttw@assam.gov.in as general contact details. Scheme pages also provide contacts for specific queries.

If you are unsure which scheme covers your course, ask before submitting the form. A little preparation now can save you from correcting avoidable mistakes later.
